If there were a test a baby could take when it was born to determine if it would be a criminal later in life, would you want to take the test and/or give it to your kids?

It's like Griot, heh.

I wouldn't trust its ability to prophesize anyway, so why not?

I'd rather not know actually.. It would be too much stress...

i'd rather not know.

No. It's hard to define a criminal, anyway. If they took the test and it was positive, I'd be worried that they would grow up to be a serial killer, and they'd end up illegally downloading music.

Just out of curiosity.

If the results are positive, will they then be destroyed?
15 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Monday 6/26/06 - 7:17:31 PM EST (GMT-5)
No, I wouldn't want to know the outcome.

No I wouldn't. I like surprises.

If you knew, couldn't that change the outcome? Or wouldnt knowing be the cause why it happend?
15 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Wednesday 8/2/06 - 2:54:04 AM EST (GMT-5)
I didn't know criminality was determined at birth...
15 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Friday 9/22/06 - 7:06:46 AM EST (GMT-5)
No I wouldn't. I think that even if a test shows if a child is going to be criminal in his life then you can change it by the way he/she grows up.
15 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Friday 9/22/06 - 7:12:29 AM EST (GMT-5)
Most of how a child turns out has to do with how they're raised..so a childhood test wouldn't be conclusive.

Yeah, so I can beat them in advance!

theres a concept called "self fulfilling prophecy"
pasically, if you elieve that you are going to turn out one wayk, you eill actually make it happen.

Haha just look at their skin color!
Just kidding, I'm not like that...
Umm, what'd happen to the future criminals?
Wasn't there a movie where people's crimes were discovered before they happened and they were locked up during the time in which they were supposed to commit the crime? I like that idea, except that it would be abused.
15 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Thursday 10/12/06 - 12:00:40 AM EST (GMT-5)
I would like to know, if for no other reason then to prove it wrong if it is positive. :)

Yes, and then I'd beat my child horrendously if it had that gene.
15 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Wednesday 2/7/07 - 2:38:22 PM EST (GMT-5)
I would do it. I'd sell bad kids and buy good ones.
15 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Wednesday 2/7/07 - 2:58:29 PM EST (GMT-5)
Maybe. I might be too scared to know the truth, though.
15 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Sunday 2/11/07 - 2:13:06 PM EST (GMT-5)
How would you know if the baby passed or failed? We all are born innocent, right?
15 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Sunday 2/11/07 - 6:42:27 PM EST (GMT-5)
No, I'd rather find out later in life.

Thats just a theory. There are other things in play like illnesses.

14 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Wednesday 6/27/07 - 1:18:05 PM EST (GMT-5)
F*cked question, in my opinion. No test could predict that. Even if it could see the future, I wouldn't take nor trust it. The future can be changed.
