They weren't very disciplinary at all. They usually just yelled though.

i was rarely disaplined but usually it was yelling and a slap across the face.

I got spankings. Thats about all I got until I got older and would just laugh at my parents.

My mom liked to yell and spank us, but she got over her anger quickly and never grounded me.
And my dad never punished me *at all*. He was very permissive.

Same as my mum and dad, except i did get grounded a couple of times. But the groundings where for really bad things, like getiing suspeneded from school.

I was spanked once, but was taken out to ice cream soon after because my mom felt bad.

And I was grounded once, but my only restriction was that I couldn't go into anyone's house - I could go outside and have friends over.

So, I've never really been disciplined, because I don't have to be. I'm a good kid.

They just shout and we argue.

Mostly threats of the belt and grounding.

But once, when I was very young, my mother was in the hospital. My brother wouldn't own up to eating a bunch of brownies. My dad knew I didn't do it.

So he took me in the bedroom, closed the door and told me to pretend to cry. He then proceeded to whup the bed with his belt. Very creative, I thought.

Why did he do that if your mom wasn't even there?

Even if I was grounded it wouldn't change anything, I don't leave the house anyway.

First my parents used regular methods, then they became dangerously violent, then they tried to get other people to punish me instead (like the police.), then they just stopped trying altogether, now they discuss the problem for hours and hours and 'How do -I- think I should be punished?' kind of thing

Just usually the standard grounding and yelling. I rarely got in trouble though, and if I did it was for the stupidest things. The groundings never held, and a good talking to when I do something wrong usually is enough.

My mom let me get away with murder and hid what I did from my father because he was a psycho when it came to my punishment.

Nothing really... and i've only ever been grounded once

well- my parents.. my parents. hmm. it was basically just regular punishments.

I was never spanked, but I occasionally got yelled at or had time outs or had privliges temporarily denied of me, which I think worked better than spanking would have

Groundings didn't really work, because I was always the type of kid who would rather stay inside and in my room than anything else.

The only way they could punish me was by taking away my books. I was (and still am) an avid reader. So, I'd get grounded from reading for a day or so.

That sincerely sucked, but after a couple of times, I stopped screwing up because I missed my books too much.

I thought I was the only kid who would get grounded from reading! I've also always thought I was the only kid who was told to come out of their room and stop reading to come watch TV with the family.

Creative- my mom wouldn't spank us so she made us clean all the bathrooms in the house. I think I would have rather been spanked...
