A former winner on 'Survivor' lied to get time off from his job as a state highway worker to join a promotional tour for the reality TV show in Europe last year, an investigation found. Chris Daugherty, 35, who won the ninth season of the CBS show, filed a false claim that he needed time off because he was under stress and suffering from depression, an Ohio Department of Transportation hearing officer ruled Thursday.

He landed the $1 million prize in 2004 for 'Survivor: Vanuatu - Islands of Fire,' but returned to his $34,000 a year job with ODOT, working on roads in central Ohio. But Daugherty could face penalties ranging from reprimand to dismissal, ODOT spokesman Andrew Gall said.

First off, hes crazy for going back to his job after winning a million dollars. Second, I don't think he should really care if he does get fired. But people lie about their sick leave all the time, and if he's a really good worker otherwise it shouldn't matter.

How the hell will anyone know if he's depressed or stressed.
But I agree that why would he even want to go back to his job, he's set for life now because now he can just go on interviews on Tv or advertise stuff to make some extra cash. Not that he needs any. Maybe he can advertize another 3 blade razor like our privious Survivor winner. :)

He got one million and every time a episode showed on TV, or the DVD's come out for that season he'll be making even more.

Hahaha, if I where him, I would see about hiring Dave Chappelle to call my Boss and say "I'm rich, B*tch!"

Well, a Million isn't the worlds largest amount of money, still, it's a nice nest egg, but if you spend it pretty fast, then he'd still probably need his job, but I would probably quit after that.

And yes, he should be fired. It's not like he couldn't get money elsewhere, anyway.
