"He did lose over 100 pounds..." That's amazing. Good for him, regardless of whether he walked the whole distance or not.

Ok... went and read the story from the link. It took him 13 months, which isn't that short of a time, since apparently it took some "peace grandmother" only five months. Although they mentioned a few things that sounded suspicious, like the fact that the video camera he was using showed him in Albuquerque one day and in Santa Rosa (117 miles away) the next.

I don't really care one way or the other. He was fat and did something about it, and televised it so that it could possibly inspire others to do something for themselves as well.

He probably had somebody slip him diet pills or something. I mean if he walked all that way and only lost like 15 pounds, they wouldn't really have a news story.

the average human walks at a pace of 3 mph and if a select induvidual walked this pace for 2/3's of the day commiting the rest of his time to sleep, he would travel an average of 48 miles per day. this is unrealistic because of things such as eating and using the potty. but able to walk across america in 13 months, entirely possible.

Yeah, I'm sure this makes no difference to me whatsoever. But I'm sure he actually did it.
