Not to become. Their fatalism kills me.

Both. Even though they weren't very good parents in general (I would NEVER entrust any child of mine to them), they *did* have their admirable moments.

I want to be like my mum, but less embarassing (!) , but if I turn out like my dad there is no way I'm having kids.

I looked to my parents for guidance when i was a youth but then took everything they taught me and seperated it into my own outlook.

Hope to be. My parents are what parents should strive to be. Not too strict, not too lenient, and very supportive.

I am already very different from them in my actions and beliefs, so I don't hope to be like them.

Definitely not like my mother, she had her moments I'll give her that. But I cannot be, I will not be, HER. It's not her fault though. Secret: WE will end up being them in one way or another, inevitable really. But at least not completely* like them, and with that I'll be okay and :probably: you will to.

In terms of work habits and career, I hope I can become half as successful as either one of them. In terms of relationships and parenting, however, well, let's just say that I plan to neither marry nor breed now.

In all honesty, I look up to them so I'll know what NOT to do. My mom's spending habits are horrifying, she's constantly going to the check casher places and I don't even want to know how many tens of thousands of dollars of debt she's in.

Both, for reasons too complicated to explain right now.

Honestly, what not to be like. I wouldn't want their relationships, their spending habits, or their success in their careers. It's a little sad, actually.

My dad always told me he did everything so I could have a better life and job than him, that he works with his hands so I don't have to. I love and admire him so I hope that, jobwise, I become nothing like him, he doesn't want me to a painter like he is, and neither do I. As far as who he is as a person, there are some things I definately admire about him, although we disagree on certain things morally I definately look up to him.

Neither, really. While they're both great people I have this thing about individualism.

In regards to career: Hell Yes! I would love to make my mother's income alone. In regards to everything else: Hell No!

I don't look to them as an example at all. I just want to be who I am.
