As far as I know you can't really hurt anyone with an ultrasound machine, so let them waiste their money. You can only hope that they will donate it to some clinic when they get tired of it.

But I doubt that you would be able to learn how to use it before the baby is born. But I guess that you would be able to hire someone to operate it.

YES! You shouldn't buy one ven if you could, I'd be a huge waste of money. If you use it properly you'd only use it about three times, and if you don't use it properly nd use it more than a couple of times (Like Tom Cruise)you'd really e putting the baby's health at risk.

Don't see the problem It's their cash unless by them buying the machine they are depriving a hospital of an ultrasound machine?

No, it shouldn't be illegal. If someone wants one, I don't see much of a reason for them not to have one. It's just expensive and useless once the baby is born.

You can use it to make sure your teenage daughter isn't pregnant.

You can use it to determine whether your tummy is growling. That way you won't accidentally starve to death.

I imagine that could be harmful to your bladder, if not anything else. Your bladder has to be quite full to use it properly, that's what the sound waves bounce off of. However, leaving your bladder very full for a while, especially if you're doing it over and over, can lead to painful urinary tract infections, which, left untreated, can lead to extremely painful and potentially dangerous kidney infections. I don't see why anyone would want one, though. Not only is it uncomfortable,a nd has those health risks, you'd have to learn to use it properly.

I say no matter how much money you have to waste only licensed medical professionals should be able to use them.

I don't see what the point would be of owning one. They'd be too dangerous to have around, anyway, because of radiation.
