I think so. It sounds reasonable.

Yeah, it would help some of the animals. I think people are more likely to attack pets when they are being attacked themselves.

I could probably beat the hell out of my boyfriend before I could ever even raise my voice to my dogs.. but that's just me. In seriousness, I don't know how I feel about courts getting involved in "pet custody" at all. Whoever owned the pets prior to the relationship should keep them. If they were aquired together then who ever took primary care of them should keep them. Honestly, I don't think there should be visitations rights and such at all. Yes, it's sad but these are animals and not people and we shouldn't waste our tax dollars on such cases. To answer the question posed in the story.. Do I think animals should be protected in protective orders? No. If the woman has possession of the dog and *she* has the dog I don't see what the issue is.

I think it would be a waste of time, but I guess if it could save a few animal's lives, why not?

I like it. People who torture animals should get the chair.

I think it's a good idea. I can't stand people who hurt their dogs or any of their pets. It does make sense though that someone who is abusive to their spouse would also be abusive to a defenseless animal. After all the first signs of someone being abusive when they get older is that when they're a child they get enjoyment out of hurting animals.

I quench inside everytime I hear the word "cat/kitty" and "microwave" used in the same sentence . If a grown adult must leave the abusive relationship and the pain that it inflicts on them, why leave a little kitten to deal with it SAVE THE KITTEN!!!
