At least your president does.

Our bloody Prime Minister can stay as long as he can get elected!

Our current one has stayed too long already.

Term Limits seem a stupid idea in the first place, if someone's good enough to be re elected surely they're good enough to run the country (yes many people will come up with examples disagreeing).
If a leader is good enough to run for three terms then they must be doing something right. The argument that bad leaders can also stay longer is valid but doesn't really make sense. If you think they're a bad but they keep winning then you must be in the minority that dislike them.
Usually any third termers have to be the current best option to run a third term with power. It's surprising that Blair's third term isn't under a coalition government

The incumbent ALWAYS has an advantage - that's why elections are so fierce when an incumbent leaves. It's the one time that newcomers have a level playing field.

The incumbent gives favors to powerful, influencial, wealthy people. These people fund his/her campaign. Most people don't pay much attention to who is doing what. If they see more of one person's (the incumbent's) ads, and especially if the opposition has been properly smeared, many people vote for the name they're familiar with.

Exactly! thats why the one president that served for 14 did, no one probably knew the opposing candidates.
Not that it was a bad thing however...

Yes they should. After a certain period of time people just begin voting for the candidate because they always have.

This guy makes some good points - I still don't know how I feel about it though.
