No, $14 a month isn't a whole lot anyway.

I didn't know you could do that. I'll have to check it out. Thanks, kiki.

That's $168 a year...it's not such a small amount...

$14/mo is too a lot! You don't pay your own bills, do you, Clashrocker?

I'd love a-la-carte cable. All of the channels that make cable expensive are typically the ones I don't like at all, like MTV and ESPN.

I'm not 18...that should be a no-brainer.

And besides, I like to discover new shows. And by eliminating the channels I do not watch, I'm missing out on a lot.

You know, the article is right. Being able to get a-la-carte cable would really help solve the whole softcore-cinema for adult viewing on cable problem a lot of parents take issue with.
16 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Sunday 2/12/06 - 11:26:19 PM EST (GMT-5)
No, because I would probably just convince myself not to buy any channels.

I think I'd have the opposite problem and would convince myself to buy channels that I'd never watch. I would always think that there might eventually be something on the channel that I want to watch.
16 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Tuesday 2/21/06 - 12:48:41 PM EST (GMT-5)
i always thought that would be a good idea, because we pay a lot for a package, and a good majority we dont even watch, i mean who really needs like 50 sports and news channels, or ones that are russian channels or vietnamese.
16 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Sunday 3/26/06 - 1:00:34 AM EST (GMT-5)
Absolutely. What do I need eighty sports channels for? What do I need ten religious channels for? What do I need a thousand movie channels for? Just give me TLC, Discovery, Cartoon Network, Comedy Central, and I'll be set for life.
16 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Sunday 3/26/06 - 1:03:22 AM EST (GMT-5)
Yes, although I would add some channels to the mix.
16 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Sunday 4/2/06 - 11:40:19 AM EST (GMT-5)
Yeah, the only reason I'm not getting cable/satelite is because I only watch like 5 channels.
16 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Thursday 4/13/06 - 11:43:01 PM EST (GMT-5)
I think it's a great idea. We get hundreds of channels, & most of them are crap.

We only watch about twenty or so.

16 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Thursday 4/13/06 - 11:49:26 PM EST (GMT-5)
I think that's a neat idea, I should tell my parents about that. We don't use a whole bunch of channels and every penny counts, right?
16 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Thursday 4/13/06 - 11:52:58 PM EST (GMT-5)
Actually, I heard a completely contradictory report that showed that was a complete waste of money, and you're better off buying packages that include all channels.
16 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Wednesday 6/21/06 - 9:22:17 PM EST (GMT-5)
Mhm, I only watch four or five channels, or so.
16 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Saturday 7/15/06 - 10:10:46 PM EST (GMT-5)
no, i love flipping through the channels. this is the only buffet like idea i like.
15 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Tuesday 11/14/06 - 5:04:28 PM EST (GMT-5)
Hell yeah. I don't need dumb channels with uber gross guys trying to sell me breast pumps.
15 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Wednesday 1/17/07 - 5:17:51 PM EST (GMT-5)
I'd love too, I don't need to watch BET. Or ESPN.
15 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Friday 1/19/07 - 4:57:09 PM EST (GMT-5)
Sounds good, but I don't watch a whole lot of TV in the first place.
15 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Tuesday 1/23/07 - 8:22:43 PM EST (GMT-5)
No. I'd rather have satelite tv so I can watch some channels that I used to watch back in Belgium.

Here we don't have National Geographic or Discovery Channel and I started missing those.

15 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Tuesday 1/23/07 - 8:25:36 PM EST (GMT-5)
We always wanted to do that but I wasn't aware it was an option.
15 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Friday 3/23/07 - 11:10:55 PM EST (GMT-5)
Definitely. I only watch like 20 channels.
15 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Thursday 4/19/07 - 3:01:19 PM EST (GMT-5)
YESSSSSSSSSSSS....I've always said I'd like to have the channels I like and not have to flip through everything I don't want...
15 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Thursday 4/19/07 - 3:37:21 PM EST (GMT-5)
I would gladly pay slightly more per channel but less overall for fewer channels than I have now. I don't need all the channels I have.
