Who cares where they come from, financially. They are all in there for the same reasons, they deserve the same treatment.
16 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Saturday 2/11/06 - 12:31:57 AM EST (GMT-5)
No, it's good for the rich to receive cruel, horrible treatment.
16 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Saturday 2/11/06 - 12:39:29 AM EST (GMT-5)
No, if rich people are having a hard time in prison its easier to bribe the guards for them.
16 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Saturday 2/11/06 - 1:13:12 AM EST (GMT-5)
I think they should put rich criminals in with the poorest of the poor convicts.
16 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Saturday 2/11/06 - 6:49:23 AM EST (GMT-5)
Absolutely not.

Like Ang said, they're in there for the same reasons, so they deserve the same treatment.

Their victims didn't know or care how rich or poor they were.

No, sod them, its not a hotel.
16 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Thursday 2/23/06 - 7:56:49 AM EST (GMT-5)
No way! Who cares about how much money they;ve got?I think they're lucky to be "kept" as it is. If I had my way, all offenders would be publicly hung! Our money goes on keeping them lot safe, fed and watered and they even have T.V's and Pool tables in prisons these days, they live better then I do! If anything, rich people should pay for themselves to be in prison!!!

You scare me...
16 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Saturday 2/25/06 - 10:44:17 PM EST (GMT-5)
Not really. That would be unequal treatment, akin to segregation.
16 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Saturday 2/25/06 - 10:48:24 PM EST (GMT-5)
Being poor doesn't mean you're anymore used to prison life than a rich person would be.
16 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Saturday 2/25/06 - 10:50:52 PM EST (GMT-5)
No! They're ALL getting punished! NOBODY should be able to pay their way to "luxurious" jail, they're all getting the same treatment for their crimes!

16 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Wednesday 3/8/06 - 3:48:57 PM EST (GMT-5)
that's just ridiculous
16 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Wednesday 3/8/06 - 6:31:14 PM EST (GMT-5)
No, not at all. They both did something wrong and should be punished.
16 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Thursday 3/9/06 - 4:14:50 PM EST (GMT-5)
Do the crime, do the time. Even if that means washing your hands with the same dirty water as petty criminals.
16 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Sunday 3/12/06 - 4:52:42 AM EST (GMT-5)
I agree with you Hudson06. Except for the hanging bit
16 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Sunday 3/12/06 - 5:56:25 AM EST (GMT-5)

Oh ffs, was my answer really that hard to understand? I'll spell it out for you.

A rich person who kills someone is no deserving of better treatment than a poor person who kills someone. Thus, they both deserve the same punishment in the same prison.

16 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Sunday 3/12/06 - 11:32:20 AM EST (GMT-5)
Most rich people aren't in jail for killing though, it's usually white collar crimes. So no, they're not really the same.
16 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Monday 3/13/06 - 12:32:16 AM EST (GMT-5)
Obviously I'm talking about a wealthy person/poor person who commit the same crime.
16 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Thursday 3/16/06 - 5:59:00 PM EST (GMT-5)
No, of course not.
16 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Saturday 4/8/06 - 8:01:53 PM EST (GMT-5)
they should go to different prisons depending on what they did.
16 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Saturday 4/8/06 - 8:07:42 PM EST (GMT-5)
Hell, no! Why should the wealthy be protected when they're incarcerated? It's bad enough, they've got Club Fed and similar institutions. Being a convicted criminal should put everybody on an even playing field. A rich dude who commits an armed robbery should be right next to the poor guy in Gen Pop who did the same thing.
