People will buy whatever cars they feel like buying, so I don't think it will have any effect. A car is a big purchase, so a few thousand dollars here or there usually doesn't make a difference because it only means a few dollars more each month.

Buying foreign cars isn't as bad as people make it out to be. American car manufacturers use parts from other countries and they employ people overseas. On the same token, foreign car makers employ many people in the United States and they use some of our parts. The only difference between a Toyota and, say, a Chevy, is which CEO gets your money.

I agree with orangeguy nowdays it doesn't matter most folks is going to buy what makes them happy and besides alot of manufactures are sharing their platforms with each other such as GM and Toyota, DaimlerChrysler and Mitshbitshi, Ford and Mazda

I never thought of Toyota as "ailing" I think they are taking a pretty good propotion of the profit share from the big 3.

Probably not.Raising the price would make more people less inclined to buy one.I think they are already overpriced anyway.

Probably not, many people (like my mother) will only buy foreign cars. I'd buy a domestic if I somehow knew that it were good quality, though. GMC is a total crap brand, though.

People buy Toyotas for more reason than their prices. Besides, domestic auto makers should step up to the plate and start making vehicles the public actually WANTS, or cut some of the bloat in their business models.

Truly, having Toyota raise its prices so that American car manufacturers can cheat the system isn't very "American" economically, now is it?

Jesus God, I hate corporations. They're all for laissez-faire when it's good for business, but once they get into a speck of trouble, they all come crying to the government for stipends, grants, and tariffs.
