So many its unbelievable. One of my friends recently moved here (coastal town - Sunderland - North England) from San Fransico and shes scared of them so she can hardly go anywhere as there are so many.

Must be fun. However, I actually burst out laughing when some family friends came over to 'go to the seaside' and like they only went to the beach twice a year - I was shocked! We go there to play badminton in the week, arcades on the night, just to mess around on the weekend, and they were treating it like a serious holiday!

Yes, they're everywhere down the coast. Although the area I've ever been to with the highest concentration of seagulls was Santa Monica beach. They were horrible!

Yes, they all lurk about the edge of the Thames. I love the sound of seagulls - it reminds me of being on holiday.

There are many gulls. There is no such thing as a "Sea gull", but there are many different species of gulls. We have Western Gulls, Heerman's Gulls, Ring Billed Gulls, Mew Gulls, and California Gulls around here.
