Well I think my jokes are funny but very often people tell me they are not.

The only way I can tell a joke is if I tell a purposely bad one that sounds so pathetic that people can't not laugh at it.

It depends. Most jokes I know are funny, but I guess it's more on who you tell it to and how you tell it.
