I get to be FIRST!!! Immigrants don't threaten me, but they do hold down the wages at the bottom. If we didn't have so many illegals the minimum wage would be much higher. Employers would have to pay more to get the job done. Americans would do the job if it paid better.

All Americans or their ancestors were immigrants once, including native Americans. In general, immigrants do more good than bad and multiculturalism benefits everyone. However, Immigration can not be totally unrestricted either, I am for commonsense immigration policy and for giving priority to refugees.

no, but damnit, they should learn to speak english. if i moved to a non english speaking country, i would learn the native tongue. and yes, i know america has no "official" language, but i am so sick of seeing business and street signs in spanish or korean, with small print, barely visible english translations underneath.

No, and drivingtena, English is one of the HARDEST languages to learn. With so many exceptions and rules, it makes other languages a breeze. Besides, other countries are already making it almost mandatory to learn English, no matter which country they are from.

I have never had an issue with sincere people who come to this country and follow the laws. If the first thing an immigrant does is break the law, they obviously have no respect for my country and by extension no respect for me. It also sets a precedent, if somebody breaks one law, why should they care about the rest? 90% of warrants for arrest for homicide in Los Angeles are for illegal immigrants. All illegal immigrants should be deported. Period.

Yes, if they're terrorists or entering here illegally and signing on to government funds and not contributing anything to the economy. (This is a big problem in the UK.)
