Awesome question. The memories are important, because they fuel the present and help us learn.

You can't have the memories without the experience. You can't learn from the experience without memory of it. I really don't know.

I figure this is somthing you deal with when you start to loss your memory, "Did I do that?" Others around you, loved ones, can awnser that for you sometimes, but if you never did it the awnser would always be no.

That is a hard question...but i would have to say that it's the actual experience and beign caught up in that one moment, because you could never get that same rush again

Tough question... I think it's the actual experience, since you will never do the exact thing again, but it creates memories for later.

Memories. I was thinking about that recently...Actually, sometimes the experiences are important so you'll have the memories.

Consider the fact that the 'present' is a construct, and one could easily say that memories are more important of the two. Surely, what good is an experience if you have no memory of it?

The experience is short lived, but the memories can last a lifetime! MEMORIES!

i think the experience..it feels great to actually be living in the moment and memories can't recreate that feeling..besides, there's no memory without the experience

the thing that comes first, unless you have dementia and cant remember what you experienced, then you need to eat your folate and huff and puff until your brain goes back to normal!

man, now this is a tough one. if you dont have memories of the experience, then you dont learn anything and the experience is pointless, but without the experience, there is no memory. Bah, ill just close my eyes and click

Experiences are so fleeting, sometimes. Memories, generally speaking, can last a lifetime. For me the answer to the question would be memories. I will always remember the first time I kissed my wife, the first time I held my baby girl. Like wise I will always remember the time my drill instructor made me go thru the the tear gas chamber twince in one day..memories are precious.

Experiences without the memories would be pretty worthless unless we're talking about exercise. Memories are important, but I wouldn't support a Twilight Zone type dream machine that plants memories in your head.

I'll always have my memories. Nobody can take them from me. Not to say that the experiences are lessened.

The actual experience. The memories just make me sad. It's much happier to actually experience something.
