VWs aren't really sports cars, but they are pretty decent - especially the past 5 years or so, they've really come out with some cool stuff. I LOVE that new SUV they have.

Italy. German cars are very well and solidly constructed and this is not conducive to good performance. Sporty cars need a good power to weight ratio and the Italians are the master of a good chasis. I personaly hate Mercedes because of the pretntiousness of the drivers in general. I almost had a fit when my mother bough a Mercedes SLK which looks sporty but drives like a little tank. She actually prefered her Fiat Bravo 20v. My dad has always had Alpha Romeo's and Masaratti's which depreciate enormously but are great drivers cars. Ferrari's cannot be beaten as the nicest sports cars in my opinion so definately Italy.

Britian (Aston Martin ) But as for those 2 companies, while I have a huge dislike for Germany because of BMW, I'm gonna have to say they're better. Not a big ofan of ferrari or lamborgini. But my 2nd choice to Aston Martin is Maserati.

I'm going to have to go with Germany for the sheer volume. Porsche vs. Ferrari is basically a wash, so I'll go with #.

Well if we're talking about mainstream motoring, German engineering is far superior to that of the Italians. I have a WV, quite old, 73k miles, and it runs perfectly! My sister has a Fiat, a few years newer, less than 40k miles, and it is always in the garage. My boss has an Alfa, not a bad car, but not as good as the WV. But this is all just speaking from experience.
