Well, no one will go get karyotypes done like I've told them too, but we most likely do. Manic depression and alcoholism have shown up a lot...

Does baldness count? Also sebhorric dermatitis runs in the family. But nothing beyond that. I do plan to start something though...

My dad's brother was born with Alport's syndrome (kidney disease). I think it can also be caused by some other gene problems and isn't just sex-linked. While it's sex-linked in our family (like haemophilia, women are carriers and males suffer from it) my grandmother actually had it, although it was much lesser in severity than her two brothers and her son's. I'm not sure why my uncle got it and not my dad. But mum said my sister and I won't pass it onto our kids (I assume it's because dad didn't have it on his X gene (from XY) then my sister and I don't have it because we both have the X gene from him). So I guess you could say we used to...as my uncle didn't have any children. Otherwise there's been quite a few heart attacks and angina in the family, so I have to take care of my heart.
