I do what needs to be done. That's about it. Plus i slack off as much as i can before they notice. So the question is, do i slack off just until i might get fired...?

I like to excel sometimes, and slack at others, but never to the degree where you're just avoiding the sack, just not to work to my full abilities.

I do as little as possible, all forms of work are detrimental to my existence.

Naw, what kind of habits are you creating for yourself when you do that? I can see a 16-year-old doing that in a crap job, but even then, if they were really paying attention to the people around them, they would see they shouldn't behave like that,

I want to not only do well at my job, but I want to create my own legacy. I want to reach for greatness at not only work, but whatever I do. I don't live just to avoid mistakes. Most of all, I want to do it all my way. So, there is no goofing off and getting fired is a no-no. However, doing just enough to not get fired is actually your job. Nothing more is required of you, just the minimum they ask you to do (i.e.: at the "firing line"). Laziness is not doing what you're supposed to do, and "doing just enough" is your obligation. If you are one of these people, however, you probably are not stimulated enough with your work to give extra. Maybe the reward or goal is not lofty enough. Perhaps you need more to do. These are issues you should raise with your boss, as if these are resolved, they'll get more production out of you and you'll be happier.

Some days. But most days I try to do more than that, because I also like to look good.

I think I do enough to get fired, if I were ever caught.
