Other than the security and lame ass country songs about that day, not really.

I guess I expected things to change a lot. How, I'm not really sure.

It depends on what way your discussing change. I think it clearly hasn't changed our daily lives when we go to dunkin' donuts and have a cup of coffee, but of course when we are flying one way on an airline, we are affected. It's changed.

Nothing as significant as many thought, though.

Not the world.. but around the time of 9/11 it made me soo proud of our country that we put american flags on our houses.. had more support for our country.. until the dang hippies are all "War's bad man! It's just another way to bring down the world man" And then everyone is all.. i hate war.. well guess what... support our troops atleast.. bastards.

I think the most drastic change has to do with the amount of fear out there. We're far more fearful than necessary. I think that was a huge factor in Bush being re-elected, which I'm pretty disgusted by.

17 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Monday 12/6/04 - 10:18:52 AM EST (GMT-5)
Yeah, for awhile everyone was all patriotic and hung flags everywhere, then people started to forget and now all anyone does is bicker about everything. I think people have gotten a lot more fearful and stupid in their thinking since 9/11.
17 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Monday 12/6/04 - 10:20:43 AM EST (GMT-5)
The world, I don't think it's changed like the US has.
17 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Monday 12/6/04 - 10:25:30 AM EST (GMT-5)
Definitely. Racism, especially directed towards Arabs, has gotten worse. I feel like our rights, especially freedom of speech and religion, are in jeopardy. The war in Iraq has certainly changed a lot of things. More countries will no longer support us. The world has definitely changed and not for the better.

$tevie, yeah that comment wasn't stupid [sarcasm]

The world has definetly changed. There was a period of a few months directly after 9/11 when worrld opinion was with America and we wanted to help catch the bastard responsible. Then Bush announced we was going on a tour of conquest to the middle east and it was downhill from there...
17 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Thursday 1/20/05 - 11:09:12 AM EST (GMT-5)
Well, we're all a lot more paranoid now.
17 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Saturday 1/22/05 - 3:20:02 PM EST (GMT-5)
Drastically...
17 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Saturday 1/29/05 - 10:16:17 PM EST (GMT-5)
Who would have guessed this would turn into a "bash Bush" shindig. Amazing.

Too few people remember just how much the world has changed since 9/11, and too many people want to play pundit and announce in their expert opinion that 9/11 was the only reason Bush got re-elected. Sadly enough, you can't always rely on what your protest signs say.

17 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Monday 3/21/05 - 10:33:56 AM EST (GMT-5)
I know it felt different the days /weeks just after 9/11, but things seem to have gone back to the way they were (maybe more here in Canada)
17 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Monday 3/21/05 - 10:37:03 AM EST (GMT-5)
We have to put up with home secretaries trying to introduce legislation that Mussolini would have considered extreme. and of course the Americans got the Rreversal of Liberty Act, Sorry, Patriot Act to put up with.
17 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Monday 3/21/05 - 10:41:01 AM EST (GMT-5)
I think people are a lot more paranoid and fearful than they used to be.

17 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Saturday 4/2/05 - 2:42:35 AM EST (GMT-5)
Well there is the &?&*?*& PAtriot Act and its canadian counterpart...
17 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Sunday 4/10/05 - 7:18:27 PM EST (GMT-5)
Yea, America suddenly went terrorist Crazy and those of us who have been dealing with it well.. all our lives... are suddenly overwhelmed by news reports and crap about it.

The world got so much more irritating after that.

17 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Sunday 4/10/05 - 7:20:52 PM EST (GMT-5)
