Europeans were (and some still are) extremely racist especially towards the countries which they were colonizing. I look at Australia's history and see some dark patches which are hardly worthy of pride but they are on a par with other European Settlements (I'm not trying to condone them here, either) and inroads are being made to heal the divides. Overall though I feel Australia has an interesting history. It's a story of struggle and survival.

Slavery, Manifest Destiny, the killing of thousands of Native Americans...I'm not particularly proud of those events in our country's history, but I'll admit we've had some good moments.

The way Britain behaved abroad thorughout most of its history is deplorable, but in the country itself, I'm fairly proud.

I'm proud of my country, and im glad to live here in the USA! Every country has lil things that were wrong, but on the whole, (hehe, austin powers) i think USA ROCKS! lol

I'm proud of certain aspects of Britain's history, i'm proud that you can see British exports all over the world, the biggest one being the English language, i feel very proud when i think its now the world's biggest language. The imperialist barstard nature of our history is not something to be proud of though.
