Yes. Baseball's for wimps. You want to know what's difficult? Try GOLF.

Aww the mods deleted my story! I said the reason people may think baseball is easier (and I do) is because they don't have to run very far, and during the vast majority of the game they are either standing in the field, or sitting in the dugout waiting to bat. You obviously have to have a lot of skill for the batting, throwing and catching, but do you really have to be a super-athletic person to play baseball? I suck at sports but I was always great at softball...
17 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Saturday 10/16/04 - 2:05:45 AM EST (GMT-5)
No, it takes a lot of strength to be able to hit the ball and throw far.
17 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Saturday 10/16/04 - 11:55:19 AM EST (GMT-5)
No, it doesn't take any strength to hit and throw. It takes SOME, but not a lot. It's more in how you do it. Don't you watch Seinfeld?

"Calculate the velocity, V, in relation
to the trajectory, T, in which G, gravity, of course remains a constant. It's not difficult"

All sports are difficult for the unathletic (e.g. me).
17 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Wednesday 10/20/04 - 6:07:27 PM EST (GMT-5)
It's just as difficult as any other sport.
17 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Thursday 10/28/04 - 5:28:05 PM EST (GMT-5)
all they do is take a stick and whack a little ball into a field and then run around a giant square while some other guys try to catch the ball.
17 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Thursday 10/28/04 - 5:31:05 PM EST (GMT-5)
No. I think it's actually one of the hardest sports in the world to play. You not only have to be strong and be able to hit a baseball ( most people can't hit one), you also have to have the mentality. You have to know when to run, when not to run. You have very little time to think when a ball is coming at you very fast. Saying baseball is less difficult than most other sports is wrong.

Yes because I understand it

I agree with porpoise. I have always been terrible at baseball, but throwing and catching the ball is the only fun part.
17 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Saturday 11/13/04 - 12:35:40 AM EST (GMT-5)
no but maybe less confusing.
17 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Saturday 11/13/04 - 12:37:44 AM EST (GMT-5)
Every sport is difficult for me, including baseball.
17 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Saturday 12/18/04 - 3:43:42 PM EST (GMT-5)
You need alot of skill in baseball but for sports like football you need to be in better shape.
17 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Saturday 12/18/04 - 4:57:59 PM EST (GMT-5)
Baseball takes a lot of skill. You need to be able to throw (and accurately) plus be able to hit the ball. And you have to master sprinting, too. Baseball takes a lot of coordination when you hit and throw. But I think a very difficult aspect about baseball is when you go out there, its not like you have anything planned. In soccer, basketball, and football you already know what to do when you head out on to the field. But in baseball, you've got to be prepared for anything. I think soccer's the easiest...just run around and kick the ball in one direction. But all sports are different...

all sports have different skills involved and have different levels of complication. (and football doesn't just involve runnning around and kicking the ball in one direction, if it was then its also arguable that baseball involves hitting a ball in any direction and running around) which sports people find easy depends on their understanding of the game and their mastering of the skills involved. so this is something that is on a more personal level

They use longer bats than the stumpy things they use in Rounders, no. Besides there are a whole load of sports that require less effort - like snooker, golf and darts.

do you have any idea how hard it is to hit a baseball?

baseball is a sport where you can get a hit only 30% of the time and still be largely successful. Think about that, then think about the overwhelming majority of PROFESSIONAL players who struggle to get a hit 25-26% of the time.
I don't know of any other sport that requires the extreme levels of mental discipline and logical reasoning that baseball requires of a hitter.

Well, in highschool PE baseball is one of the easiest sports to play, but playing at a professional or competitive leval would be harder, of course. For a lot of sports you have to be in a lot better shape (like hockey, soccer, football, ect.)

Everybody is different

Baseball is extremely hard. For you nay-sayers..have you ever gone to the batting cages and tried to hit the 90 mph pitches?
16 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Tuesday 5/24/05 - 2:33:43 AM EST (GMT-5)
I tend to find all sports hard.
