fear in the instinctive sense, like of a car coming towards you, is nothing to be ashamed of. but fear of life, etc...i generally embrace it because it means something new or exciting but i'm just scared because change is scary. Sometimes. Does that make sense?!

I think fear is a good thing because it shows you your limits and warns you against potentially dangerous activities.
