Umm... actually, that's a pretty good point. Not much. but some things, that have a strong effect, have made me feel depressed. They are pretty small in the long run, though.

Yeah I do, but I try not to sit around and feel bad for myself. I just kind of internalize the crap because I can't be bothered with telling other people about it

One of the requirements for diagnosis of depression in one of the psychology manuals is that is has no cause.

Kiraa, i dont really understand what you mean, and i agree with glennh70. My sister is dating this rich dude who is only 13 and already has 2 cars of his own and lives in this collasal mansion in the richest neighborhood in town. he acts so depressed ans sh*t like that like he's gothic and everything. It is soooo annoying.

Money doesn't buy happiness, you know. I don't think a person's wealth (or family wealth) should have any real bearing on whether they have reason to be depressed or not.

You are very right. But my sister has been dating him for several months now and i have gotten to know him pretty well. If he is truly depressed, then i dont know why. I have seen him with his parents and they treat each other well. He also gets good grades (or so my sister says). My impression is that a lot of teenagers like to act depressed because they think it is cool, but really it is horrible. The buy cloths from Hot Topic and wear dark make-up and stuff like that. That is what her boyfried does and clearly it is an act.

No but both of my grandparents were and they both killed themselves. So was one of my close friends but she got treatment and she is no longer depressed. I understand your position on this completely and sorry if i offended you. I guess you just have to know this guy to understand where i am coming from.

Oh silly. I'm totally not offended.  I probably do have to know him. I know the type. All teenagers think their life sucks though. No big surprise in that sort of behavior. |
