No...I tip based on how good the service was. If it was sh*tty service they're getting a bad tip, regardless

Oh totally - I never tip for bad service (unlike my husband, who always leaves a good tip even if they suck. Usually I take it off the table when he isn't looking - I refuse to reward bad behavior  ) ... but if it's great service and I'm tipping normally, if they are older I think I usually tip more. I feel bad they don't have a career yet or something. |

no, but most of the time they are the nicest ones so if they are nice than yes, they deserve it. working in food is not easy. i speak from experience

I try to always tip all servers well.. since I've been there and feel sorry for anyone who has to do that job

In my experience, as a server, the older ones seem to think they are better than the other servers and they are not as pleasent to work with. Also they are as capable of working as everyone else. They usually work only a few hours because it is just something to get out of the house and do because they are bored and well off. At least this has been my experience being a server, I know it sounds like I am being mean but I'm not trying to be.

I tip for service.... if it sucks then the tip will suck. If its good then the tip will be good.

i tip all servers good. its not rewarding bad behavior kiki, maybe they just got behind and thats why they gave bad service...if they're nice but give bad service i feel even more bad for them

It depends on the service I recieve that I tip on. Nothing else. Sometimes I wil tip a realy pretty waitress a little more though.

ok, this is a great example of the need to read other peoples responces before posting. 8 posts here say that the person tips based on service alone. i actually tip all people relativly equally. unless a waiter or waitress is rude to be, i give the a reasonable tip. |
