They've already tried it a few times, but it's never been worth listening to.
18 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Friday 6/25/04 - 3:25:35 PM EST (GMT-5)
I don't really like rap. But in this case, mixing the two would be like putting ketchup on filet mignon. I HATE country music, and to mix these would not only sound horrible, it would be an insult to the small redeeming value of rap.

^ I don't think they ment mixed together, I think they ment mixed with anything...

And it would be an insult to the music country was mixed with.

Rap however is already mixed in with metal and punk- Take Linkin Park with "In The End" or "High Voltage" or "Nobody's Listening". Or Sum 41 with "Fat Lip.

I like country but that rap crap aint worth listening to cause you cant hear a word they are saying and when you do it is either about sex, a curse word, or bling-bling.

^^ Wow. That was so intelligent. You must not know a THING about rap try listening to Tupac who actually rapped about meaningful things.

I hate it when people have strong opinions on something they know nothing about.
18 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Thursday 7/1/04 - 12:12:41 PM EST (GMT-5)
I would rather stick to the stuff I can understand without have to decipher the words and see if it is worth listening to. But thanks for the suggestion.

She's obviously never heard Jurassic 5 - they hardly ever curse, talk about sex, and they have no 'bling bling'. Almost all of their songs are about religion/politics. I also hate when people don't know about something but bash it anyway, but that's how it is. I thought the same thing about rap before I actually started listening to it - now it's one of my favorite things to listen to.
18 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Thursday 7/1/04 - 12:21:32 PM EST (GMT-5)
well i will not say anymore cause yall are obviously getting your panties in a wad (for all the non-southerners, that means getting worked up about it) about this. But i shall still stick with the old country.
18 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Thursday 7/1/04 - 12:22:15 PM EST (GMT-5)
That's becuase you don't know sh*t about what you're saying and basically admiting to being very close-minded.

18 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Thursday 7/1/04 - 12:23:39 PM EST (GMT-5)
Yeah Kiki, I totally agree I love political rap. Tupac did alot of that in his early days most of it was about the blacks and their socio-economic standing.

18 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Thursday 7/15/04 - 1:28:48 PM EST (GMT-5)
they combine styles all the time..i remember when they combined country with techno for that song by Rednex called "Cotten-eyed Joe" i loved that song
18 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Thursday 7/15/04 - 7:17:07 PM EST (GMT-5)
The St. Lunatics have NO traces of country in their music - where do you get that from? Kid Rock isn't country either, that's rock and rap.
18 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Thursday 7/15/04 - 7:19:54 PM EST (GMT-5)
