I got it when I was 11. I got a crappy old computer with windows 3.1. I'd like...play old games (the old 2D duke nukem ones!! hehe) and randomly program with Qbasic....and mess around with my microphone... Ergh.. yeah. That computer officially died this year. So, I don't have one anymore. I was never able to have internet because when my brother was 11, he had internet in his room...and my dad found that he had been going to nipples.com or something through the history. So, blah. Now i'm not allowed to have internet in my room because my dad thinks i'm addicted to the internet.... Even though i'm not....and my dad isn't home enough to tell. When he is home I get on the computer to avoid talking to him. Blah.

I'm not sure PC's were available when I was under 12. Even if they were, I'm sure the cost would've been prohibitive.

My sister had an apple. I used to play "Lemonade Stand" on it. Learning how supply must be directly proportionate to demand. Very, uh, good for an eight-year-old.

I think when I was 12 only the government had computers. When I was a high school senior, there were two computers in the whole school, and those didn't even have monitors. They printed all the information out on a piece of paper, sort of like a teletype machine.
