What the hell, Kiki? Why would somebody make such a generalization? People buy trucks because they're efficient for moving big things you need. I may know one person who has a truck and could fit into your stereotypical hick image. Not like you'd believe me. And my dad has a truck, too. Believe it or not but I'd say 1000 in 1 people who own trucks are hicks. Yes, even here, you ignorant fool.

I didn't think I was a hick because I drive a truck but now that the truth is out I guess I am.

Why do assume you I agree with the question just because I wrote it jusork?

Because I've seen your other posts on such things. You point out stereotypical (usually with a joking wink) things about hicks when ever it's brought up. I guess I was basing it on what I was thinking you were probably thinking. You may not agree with it, but you proposed the idea.

That's true, I'm not real big on hicks - the racist rednecks and uneducated people, not anyone who drives a truck. You are cool though, you like South Park and good music

Wait, you mean people in the northern US don't often drive trucks? Trucks are about half the vehicles on the road down south

The only car that is more "white trash" in Australia than the ute (pick-up), is the Panelvan.

Also known as a "Shaggin' Waggon." Throw a mattress in the back, and you don't have to pay for a hotel room when you meet that someone special...

LMAO AussieMike - those look like the ultimate in low-class cars in America, the El Camino: business in front, party in back. It's the automobile version of the mullet

Lindsay most people around here don't have trucks, just farmers. And every now and then farmers will move to the city and buy a new expensive shiny truck, but it's still a truck. Here in the north we all have SUVs instead of trucks

oh ok Around here, most guys, and even some girls want trucks. If someone at school gets a new Avalanche or something, its a big deal. But most people here could probably be considered "hicks" AND this is about as southern as it gets, so there you go.

The two major players (Ford and Holden) have had that style of car in continuous production since the '40s. In the '60s the panalvan evolved from the ute to give tradesmen more security for their loads. In the '70s it was discovered by the surfie culture, and became famous as a sin mobile. Today, the ute still has a small amount of respectability. The panelvan, however, unless it has a business name painted on it's side, it's sure to be a mullet wearing 'westie' or 'surfie' driving it.

How funny Mike! That one you posted there looks like the low-rider trucks that Mexican gangsters drive and trick out here! Lindsay some people here really do like trucks, one of my sisters loves them, her dream is to own one of those huge 4-door trucks. I think most people see it as kind of a lower-class thing though, even though a new truck can really set you back...

Lindsay, go to a road and count how many trucks come by in 30 minutes. Sorry, I just find it hard to believe that your area has more (or as many) trucks than cars. Kiki, do you live in the city? If so, that's probably why. The country tends to be where handymen and other people who carry big things often live. So there should be people who drive trucks in every state. I do live in a fairly rural area though.

Yeah I live in the city jusork - that's what I said, farmers from the country all have trucks, not too many people around here though. I can see if you need it for your work! But I don't understand how someone (like my sister) can look at a truck and be like 'gotta get me one of those awesome-looking machines!'
