CLERMONT, Fla. - The sign over the leg-press machine proclaims: 'The weakness of God is stronger than man's strength,' and the stock greeting among employees and clients is a simple 'God bless you.'

Over the bench-press machine are the words: 'As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.' Welcome to Lord's Gym, America's Christian fitness-club chain, where members with 'His Pain Your Gain' T-shirts use running machines and work out to Christian rock music against walls painted with biblical frescoes...

If there was one in your area, would you go to a Lord`s Gym instead of a traditional fitness club?

NO, never in a million years.
17 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Friday 6/4/04 - 8:27:05 AM EST (GMT-5)
No, that sounds stupid.
17 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Friday 6/4/04 - 8:27:46 AM EST (GMT-5)
This is downright creepy and uncalled for.
17 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Friday 6/4/04 - 8:27:55 AM EST (GMT-5)
So, yes, yes I would
17 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Friday 6/4/04 - 8:31:07 AM EST (GMT-5)
No. Then how will there be random sex in the locker rooms.
17 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Friday 6/4/04 - 8:32:10 AM EST (GMT-5)
It's up to all of us to initiate the lockerroom sex, Omni!
17 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Friday 6/4/04 - 8:33:25 AM EST (GMT-5)
Sweatin' to the Hymns
17 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Friday 6/4/04 - 8:41:57 AM EST (GMT-5)
I think there is one in my area. But I wouldn't go to it even if it was right down the road. They cost money, I think. The gym on base is free. Ha!
17 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Thursday 7/15/04 - 10:56:07 AM EST (GMT-5)
Depends how good the gym was and how the price was. I don't care if it's the Lord's gym or the lord's gym, same to me.
17 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Thursday 7/15/04 - 10:58:34 AM EST (GMT-5)
Never EVER
17 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Thursday 7/15/04 - 10:58:42 AM EST (GMT-5)
no, but mainly because i don't go to gyms.
17 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Thursday 7/15/04 - 11:00:03 AM EST (GMT-5)
to quote a very wise woman:

"Never EVER "

17 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Tuesday 11/9/04 - 2:30:39 PM EST (GMT-5)
I would
17 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Tuesday 11/9/04 - 2:44:02 PM EST (GMT-5)
I have a very good friend who is a Christian and a plumber. He refuses to use his faith as an advertising trick because he thinks it is exploitative. If a customer asks, he is willing to share it, but he doesn't have a fish next to his ad in the phone book or on his card or on his truck or anything like that.
I would be concerned about the Lord's Gym doing something similar to what my friend is concerned about. If I were on the market for a gym, I'd have to look into it to see what I thought.
17 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Tuesday 11/9/04 - 3:10:34 PM EST (GMT-5)
No way in hell...but then again I wouldn't be caught dead in a fitness club anyway.
17 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Monday 12/6/04 - 2:17:33 PM EST (GMT-5)
Although I don't go to gym's it sounds like cool place to go. I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ or that I am a christian. If I saw an ad that stated he was a christian I would be more apt to hire him.
17 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Monday 12/6/04 - 2:23:45 PM EST (GMT-5)
No. Never Ever.
17 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Monday 12/13/04 - 3:25:52 PM EST (GMT-5)
you could potentially get in trouble for that, jarhead, as its illigal to discriminate against someone based on them being christian vs. non christian. :P

17 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Wednesday 1/5/05 - 6:46:04 PM EST (GMT-5)
I would, since I'm a Christian, I would like to work out with Christians, it would be nice. If there was one around here I would go.
17 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Wednesday 1/5/05 - 7:01:36 PM EST (GMT-5)
i would
17 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Sunday 1/9/05 - 8:22:17 PM EST (GMT-5)
I wouldn't go specifically because it was the Lord's Gym. I also wouldn't not go specifically because it was the Lord's gym.
17 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Sunday 1/9/05 - 8:27:28 PM EST (GMT-5)
"If I saw an ad that stated he was a christian I would be more apt to hire him."

Why doesn't that surprise me?

17 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Saturday 1/22/05 - 3:09:20 AM EST (GMT-5)
no ... i have full access to all my workout/athletic needs at my university's facilities ... and its sorta free (athletic fees are mandatory with tuition. i want to take classes, so i pay the fees anyway - and they aren't big)
17 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Thursday 2/24/05 - 1:20:24 PM EST (GMT-5)
Wow. That place sounds terrifying. I don't think I would go there even if I were a Christian. Some things, like religion and workouts, just don't mix well.
