Ben Deacy's mouth was allegedly taped to stop him talking, but a teacher who allegedly put tape on a boy's mouth because he was talking during a lesson will not face criminal prosecution.

The Llanrumney High School teacher in Cardiff was said to have placed a thin strip of tape over Ben Deacy's mouth. She then wrote about the incident in a school report prompting 11-year-old Ben's mother, Kay Morgan, to complain. For some reason, this amuses me slightly.

I'm not sure why.

But yeah, she should have been fired. Not just for the taping incident, but the fact she was also stupid enough to write it on the report.

17 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Monday 7/19/04 - 2:37:52 AM EST (GMT-5)
So do I Becky! We'll be special needs together.

Seriously. Why not say handicapped. Or learning disabled. Why "special needs"? Aren't all kids special? Don't they all have needs?

17 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Monday 7/19/04 - 2:40:05 AM EST (GMT-5)

Yes, that's just sick.
17 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Tuesday 10/12/04 - 3:43:44 PM EST (GMT-5)
Yes.
I have no problem with euphemisms like "special needs" or "exceptional" to describe students with certain educational or behavioral issues. My only problems are when such students use their label as a crutch and an excuse, and when teachers are expected to accomodate such issues without proper resources.
17 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Tuesday 10/12/04 - 3:51:40 PM EST (GMT-5)
That teacher is an idiot.
17 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Thursday 12/30/04 - 1:32:53 PM EST (GMT-5)
All tards should have their mouths sealed.
17 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Thursday 12/30/04 - 1:36:41 PM EST (GMT-5)
I think so. She sounds like an awful teacher who doesn't know how to discipline her students. She could've just sent him to the principal or something
17 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Thursday 12/30/04 - 1:40:16 PM EST (GMT-5)
