I agree with raine. I really do not see what maple leafs, hockey, beer, snow, etc. have to do with Canada in general. Obviously, Canada is much more than just that. They are just mere stereotypes.

well, to answer this question, one must clearly define "identity"... no but seriously, i dont think any country has one. if hockey, beer, and the Maple Leafs are our identity then the US' is useless gun laws, conservative christians, the Yankees and war-happy presidents.

Canada is no more multi-cultured than the USA is. Canada's identity seems to be that they are not Americans though they try to copy everything American. Canadians are very proud of the people who make it big in the States. Two examples being Celine Dionne and Shania Twain.
