It depends on how much you're drinking. Some people like to have a glass of wine or a beer with or after dinner, or while watching a game.

I agree with 314159's last line. Dinking alone doesn't make a person alcoholic as long as it's treated like a beverage. It's when it becomes a necessity to drink just to function, or when your mind and body become dependant that one is alcoholic. Or when drinking becomes an obsession and you drink alone because you don't want others to see how much you drink or what kind of person you are when you drink that drinking alone becomes a problem. If you're just having a beer with the game or a stiff one after a hard day's work then I wouldn't worry about it. Most people can handle that.

Drinking alcohol on your own indicates nothing, getting drunk alone can indicate towards yourself having a problem or perhaps heading towards serious depression.

I've drank alone and I've been drunk alone. I've never considered myself alcoholic and I drink less often than most people my age now. It doesn't mean you're dependent on the drug. You have to look at more factors than that.
