is that so that people won't hit on them or something? I don't know anyone. I've heard you might have a better chance getting a job if you wear a wedding ring to the interview. makes you look stable and proper.

I did--when I was in 6th grade. They were married to the Monkees. We even had a fake wedding. It was really sad.

I know women that have worn wedding bands while traveling to other countries to avoid getting hassled by men.

No but I knew this one chick that was....I think about 14, anyway she wasnt all that great looking, but anyway she said that her boyfriend propossed to her and wore a ring...now thats pathetic becuz non of my friends have seen her "fiance". So therefore I think she was pretending to be ingaged.

I've seen women do this at clubs, because they don't want some wasted loser slobbering on them, but other than that, no.

it's a really really good way to keep people from hitting on you. Or to send them packing. It's not pathetic, it's defensive.

Yes so that people can't try to ask you out or say they fancy you. It's a pretty good idea! Also, in some countries you have to, to prevent being date raped.

no i heard it's bad luck to wear a ring on your wedding finger before you are engaged or married. i wouldn't do it but it would be good if you didn't want hit on. but some people will still hit on you anyway, especially in a club or bar.

Heh, my mom was married before she met my dad and she kept the ring after the divorce. She'd wear it at her job in a bar so no one would try to pick her up...now how slick is that?

It sounds like there could be situations in which someone would do that, but no, I don't know anyone who does.

If you're doing it just to "pretend" to be married, that would be sad. But I have and wear my deseased grandpa's wedding band. Usually it's on my right hand, but if I go out to a club or bar, I'll switch it to my left hand to avoid being hit on, since I'm already taken.
