Provided civilians do not get caught in the crossfire, do you really care if people involved in organised crime kill each other?
Melbourne`s key underworld players are bracing themselves for the next slaying after the city`s very public gangland war escalated on Tuesday with the murder of accused hitman Andrew Veniamin.
Victoria Police assistant commissioner Simon Overland said he was not surprised Veniamin, 28, was gunned down in a popular inner-city restaurant and said his close friend, accused drug baron Carl Williams could be next.
Veniamin, who was not under police surveillance at the time of his murder, himself believed it was coming and told detectives not to bother investigating his death if he was murdered, Mr Overland said.
Mr Williams, who had spent part of the day with Veniamin on Tuesday, could be the next underworld figure killed, Mr Overland said.
Detectives want to speak to him in relation to Melbourne`s 22 gangland murders.
No not at all. That's part of the turf. As long as completely innocent people don't die, I dont really give a hang...unless we're talkin about Sonny Corleone, then I'll get all emotional.
I guess I wouldn't feel personally involved if I didn't know them, but I still don't think its the best idea. I mean, just because no-one got caught in the crossfire _this_ time. A good gun battle is a sure sign the neighborhood is going south.
Yes. The rule of law vs. the rule of the jungle is the way to settle things. I believe that violence creates more violence which negatively effects everyone.
No, so long as me and mine are not in the way, let them blow themselves to pieces. The world is better off each time a drug lord or stand over man bites the dust. Do you really think they give a damn whether you or I are caught in the crossfire? Be gone...all of them, by fair means or foul.
