The horoscopes you see in the newspapers, magazines and on tv are a load of crap. They are a generalization for the masses. They have no substance or continuity. However, they are amusing. The charts you can have made for youself, Astrological Charts are surprisingly accurate. Did you know that Queen Elizabeth has her own Astrologer? She has charts done for everyone in the Royal Family. I guess it's a cool habit for a rich woman. Anyway, Prince Charles had one done at his birth. It was so completely un-royal it was shocking. For a person born so high up within a royal family the results were apprently astounding. So another was done to double check. Same result. Story goes, it was put away and forgotten. Interesting to see how the events of his life have unfolded.

a lot of things we know now are not included in horoscopes and its very scientific calculation :) for example, the earth turns on itself, that we know for some time, but its not straignt, like we see on maps, its inclined to the left (26 degrees, i think) that would change the positions of the planets on a horoscope chart, making the set dates for being a geminy (example) change ever so often but they dont change it

"It is a brilliant observation, and would explain why there are several inaccuracies in the whole astrology thing." That's already explained by the fact that astrology is a steaming pile of bullsh*t.

of course not. astrology is not science. all it is is telling gullible people what you think they want to hear.

Sedna isn't even a planet. Even if it was it would be the nineth planet because scientists are claiming that Pluto is actually not a planet but a overgrown asteriod clearly a member of the Kuiper belt population, as can be seen from the fact that there are objects in the same vicinity slightly smaller than Pluto. And...Sedna is belived to be in a further lying belt that human telescops can't pick up due to the fact they don't reflect enough light....

I don't think Western astrology is crap at all, it's very surprisingly accurate, and does help a lot to understand people better, much like taking a psychology class would do the same thing. However, I much prefer Eastern astrology (East Asian).

And also, I don't think it matters whether or not astrology is accurate because of the planets; I think the planets and stuff are just used as a way to measure whatever it is that they're measuring. I trust it just a little bit more than science because it's been around long enough for long-term research to have been done. Compare that with all these personality assessments made in ten years by scientists... that doesn't even cross into another generation.

"...does help a lot to understand people better, much like taking a psychology class would do the same thing." Psychology classes aren't aimed at doing this. "Compare that with all these personality assessments made in ten years by scientists..." Personality research has been around for about 70 years, but it involves science instead of the bizarre pipedream that is astrology.

I think astrology sometimes seems to work because it's based in the time and date that a person is born. One's personality could easily be affected by their earliest memories (e.g., in the Northern Hemisphere, an Aquarius would have earliest memories of Winter, whereas a Cancer of Summer.) In other words, I don't think Sedna will have an effect on it.

no it only adds to what is already known - not elimating what know and making it moot

Someone here may know something I don't but astrology is based on the position of the sun as compared to constellations. What do planets have to do with constellations? (By the way I still don't believe in it)

No.. Jeez.. :P
Sedna, is an asteroid.
There are gadzillion asteroids.. the 12 signs still stand.. and Ophiuchus.. they were never included in the first place. People know nothing about astrology :)
