Is it okay for a woman to slap a man when he has crossed the line with a comment or is `getting fresh`?

I should think so. I mean if you couldn't do that Men, and women alike, wouldn't know the boundaries and there'd be rapes and sexual abuse and physical and verbal abuse everywhere moreso than there is now.

I used to think otherwise, but experiencing a situation or two where it was pertinent to slap a man for something I realised it is neccessary. Some men just aren't reached by words alone.

I don't believe violence is ever the solution. If he's overstepped his bounds, call him an idiot and walk away.
18 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Friday 3/12/04 - 9:38:31 AM EST (GMT-5)
Sure. Why not?
18 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Friday 3/12/04 - 9:44:17 AM EST (GMT-5)
Comment? No. Getting fresh as in physical contact or gesture? Sure, although I wouldn't recommend it.
18 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Friday 3/12/04 - 9:50:37 AM EST (GMT-5)
Yes, but it's much more effective and over dramatic to throw your drink in his face
18 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Friday 3/12/04 - 9:55:02 AM EST (GMT-5)
The charge is "simple assult".
I wouldn't press charges but there are some that would, so be carefull who you smack.
18 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Friday 3/12/04 - 9:55:51 AM EST (GMT-5)
Ah, if that's the case, then I like megvicious's suggestion Could you be charged if anything for that?
18 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Friday 3/12/04 - 10:00:36 AM EST (GMT-5)
^Alcohol abuse

Salut!

If your really going to slap someone hard then no its not right unless they did or said something so bad u slap them out of instinct. It's embarassing and disrespectful to the guy, and if you have the guts to hit a guy then its like giving him permission to hit u back. If u wana act tought so are they thats just the way it is he s going to want to defend himself.Unless hes a gentlemen which most guys usually are when it comes to stuff like that.
18 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Friday 3/12/04 - 7:52:36 PM EST (GMT-5)
Maybe a gentle slap, nothing damaging.. just to get a message across
18 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Friday 3/12/04 - 11:03:41 PM EST (GMT-5)
No, a man shouldn't hit a woman, and a woman shouldn't hit a man.
18 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Friday 3/12/04 - 11:08:39 PM EST (GMT-5)
No comment needs to result in violence, though it happens all to often. The freshness thing is different. If he's doing something the female dislikes and is told to stop and doesn't, then perhaps slapping is the only action he'll respond to.
18 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Friday 3/12/04 - 11:19:05 PM EST (GMT-5)
It's a risk all guys are aware of when they talk to women.
18 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Saturday 3/13/04 - 8:13:07 PM EST (GMT-5)
If they are really out of line, yes a slap can be deserved and warranted
18 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Tuesday 3/30/04 - 3:32:12 PM EST (GMT-5)
No, I don't think its OK. Meg and Travbow both have good alternative solutions. Besides, any guy whose stepped enough beyond his bounds to warrant a slap probably gets off on it.
18 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Tuesday 3/30/04 - 3:35:24 PM EST (GMT-5)
He would deffinitly deserve it, but, people will press charges and sue for anything these days
18 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Tuesday 3/30/04 - 4:04:13 PM EST (GMT-5)
it's not only ok, it's praiseworthy.
18 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Friday 5/7/04 - 9:22:32 AM EST (GMT-5)
no i dont thinks its ok to slap, because a slap doesnt hurt a lot and slapping someone hurts your hand too so punching would be way better
it hurts them more and your hand doesnt hurt when punching someone
18 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Friday 5/7/04 - 9:24:30 AM EST (GMT-5)
slapping is fine. also pinching, biting, and pulling hair. anything to get your point across to a guy... hell, throw stuff even. whatever
18 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Friday 5/7/04 - 9:25:28 AM EST (GMT-5)
'Getting fresh'

How quaint! No, it should never be right to slap someone else. I would do if necessary but only then and for that reason.

18 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Friday 5/7/04 - 9:26:49 AM EST (GMT-5)
I'm with meg, throw a drink in his face.
18 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Friday 5/7/04 - 9:27:24 AM EST (GMT-5)
i think if he grabbed her ass, she has every right to slap him. it's kinda of eye for an eye attitude which im normally against. but all too many times i hear about guys grabbing in bars... i just dont understand the 'need'. yes, she's pretty. but grabbing her ass isnt going to get you her name.
18 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Friday 5/7/04 - 9:29:41 AM EST (GMT-5)
^^She can always grab his ass back.
