Is the free trade agreement between the USA and Australia a good thing?

Admittedly I didn't read the link, but I'd say beware these free trade deals with the U.S. We tend to stick a lot of clauses in there that benefit us and not whomever is on the other end of the deal. Australia probably has more bargaining power than some south american countries, but next to the pressure of a US economy, you might find its not all you had hoped for.

It's not exactly a "free trade" agreement and in any case American lawyers have a tendency to make one word mean a completely different thing that it was designed to mean once a paper containing it enters their hands.

It's actually a prevalent practise here on YT too.

I agree Howard is a complete fool, look at the size of the US economy and their companies, they'll be walking and dictating all the rules for their benefits, and what companies from Australia would go to the US and try to have any influence, nil.
