like any other political controlling company, they will diverse into the new age, but that is along road ahead. They say 25 to 35 years before this is feasable but we are already capable of super efficiency, some how the oil companies will capatalize... it's guerrilla warfare....

they'll just take over the hydrogen business, or whatever business, and charge exorbitant prices.

17 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Wednesday 2/11/04 - 8:12:42 PM EST (GMT-5)
It will probably take even longer than 40 years, because oil companies deliberately try to halt research into hydrogen/oxygen fuel cells.

They'll probably make sure they monopolize those too.
17 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Friday 2/13/04 - 9:44:34 PM EST (GMT-5)
we will be dependent upon fossil fuels until the major players in this industry develop a lucrative alternative which they can seeemlessly exchange for the old way and sell it to the public as a concern for the environment.

The electricity that the hybrid cars run on will have to be generated by fossil fuels.

^^I agree too! The big oil companies are probably gearing up their new subsidiaries to take control of this industry with Cheney as CEO for life.
17 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Monday 2/16/04 - 4:33:16 PM EST (GMT-5)
Just a guess, but MAYBE they'll go out of business. That's just a hot in the dark though. xD
17 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Monday 2/16/04 - 5:05:34 PM EST (GMT-5)
They'll turn into pharmaceutical companies.
17 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Monday 2/16/04 - 5:29:25 PM EST (GMT-5)
I don't think theses powerfull oil companies will let this happen..and if they do it will be a very long time
17 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Monday 2/16/04 - 9:13:21 PM EST (GMT-5)
We already use hydrogen power - solar fusion!
17 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Monday 2/16/04 - 11:36:25 PM EST (GMT-5)
either half of our economy will collapse, or they will Yankee up the whole industry
17 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Tuesday 2/17/04 - 3:07:30 AM EST (GMT-5)
I agree with most. They will buy and destroy the companies involved in research and development and put their lads into research to make fuel cleaner.

Or buy the companies and make hrdrogen 4 times more expensive to buy than any hydrocarbon product so we just dont bother.

Nope your guess is as good as mine
17 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Tuesday 2/17/04 - 8:04:11 PM EST (GMT-5)
Quite honestly, I dont see this happening for at least another decade or so, so I'm not concerned about what will happen to the companies now.
17 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Friday 3/19/04 - 3:42:55 PM EST (GMT-5)
They will continue to refine oil for plastics and other uses. That and the human sacrifices. You can't be evil without blood sacrifices now and then.
17 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Saturday 3/20/04 - 12:59:52 AM EST (GMT-5)
Some how they will probably end up owning the hydrogen suppliers.
17 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Sunday 3/21/04 - 11:17:35 AM EST (GMT-5)
I think that you will still need oil for heating your home. Electricity is just too expensive and the enviromentalist will keep screaming about fireplaces or wood stoves until they are banned. They never will here b/c almost everyone uses wood to heat their home.
17 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Sunday 3/21/04 - 3:03:31 PM EST (GMT-5)
I would think they would just adapt as necessary.
17 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Sunday 3/21/04 - 3:18:30 PM EST (GMT-5)
Well if you look at B.P they are the worlds biggest and most advanced producer and researcher of Solar technology they have been experimenting with it for years i'm sure companys as big as they are have things sussed out and know what they are going to do.
17 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Sunday 3/21/04 - 4:53:43 PM EST (GMT-5)
