It's also what that reporter in Iraq died of, from being cramped in the Army vehicle 24 hours a day.

There is also some evidence that sitting at a computer several hours a day can lead to the same thing

Now I will..

I am more worried about whether or not the goddam pilot is sober.
18 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Wednesday 3/3/04 - 9:35:44 AM EST (GMT-5)
I'm more worried that people are too stupid to consider just moving their toes while sitting in chairs (which counteracts Deep Vein Thrombosis).
18 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Wednesday 3/3/04 - 9:37:25 AM EST (GMT-5)
I'm over 6 feet tall. You tell me.
18 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Wednesday 3/3/04 - 10:02:31 AM EST (GMT-5)
I'm 1.80 meters, it is cramped of course. But I had no problems just by occasionally moving my toes to get the blood flowing.

Why worry about something you can't control? If it happens, it happens. If it doesn't, then you live on for another day.
18 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Saturday 4/3/04 - 5:45:55 PM EST (GMT-5)
Solution: Get up and walk around.
18 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Saturday 4/3/04 - 5:57:02 PM EST (GMT-5)

Any time I have ever flown, after we hit crusing alltitude, we were allowed to get up and move about. Generally it was to go to the restroom. The only time we weren't was in case of bad turbelence. I'm kind of short so I can move my legs a little bit.
17 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Friday 6/11/04 - 3:29:28 PM EST (GMT-5)
I usually don't care by the time we're in the air.

Eh, I'm 5'4", so I often move around a lot in my seat...I've got ADD and I can't sit still for too long...I'm always moving my toes.
17 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Tuesday 9/21/04 - 11:31:56 AM EST (GMT-5)
Well when I am flying FIRST class I ALWAYS worry about those rabble-rousers in economy class trying to move up front. I wasn't aware that they carried on board a syndrome of some kind, you'd think with Homeland Security and Alerts everywhere they'd have dogs sniffing out and tazering these potential biohazards before they even get on board the plane.

For those of you on YT who do decide fly economy and have this syndrome, which airline do you use? So I can see if I should finally just break down and finally purchase my own plane.

Because the straw that breaks the camels back is if I just can't avoid you sedentary beasts all together!

O just kidding!

17 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Tuesday 9/21/04 - 11:50:16 AM EST (GMT-5)
I am genrally much more worried about crashing than DVT.
17 yrs ago, 8 mos ago - Thursday 9/23/04 - 2:07:02 PM EST (GMT-5)

17 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Tuesday 10/12/04 - 3:43:27 AM EST (GMT-5)
I didn't before, but now I'm rethinking my views
17 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Tuesday 10/12/04 - 3:49:00 AM EST (GMT-5)
No, and I don't move around that much on a plane.
17 yrs ago, 6 mos ago - Sunday 10/24/04 - 8:30:57 AM EST (GMT-5)
