"The boat is registered if thats what you mean instead." I'd check on the DNR website or something, because if you get caught driving without a permit... Bad things could happen. If you are over 18, it may be different, not sure.

I checked everything here. All you need is your boat registered and you must have a driver's license. No boat/watercraft permit required unless that fits under the 2 must have's above.

we were required to get one sophomore year in high school. i'm not sure why, but to take the test we didn't have to go anywhere near water - it was a simple written test. it's ridiculous really.
