I don't find either to be very important at all. I just gloss right over those.

Fourth of July, seeing as it's only celebrated the the people in the US, while Thanksgiving I believe is celebrated by Canada as well, which is ALSO part of the Americas, but I think that the Fourth of July is more country-oriented.

Yes we have thanksgiving up here, just a little more than a month before you do. Don't ask me why we do, but we just do.

I never get angry on the 4th Lucas, but I always want to kill stuff, guess that's what makes me American... HAHAHA!!! I'll vote for the 4th as well since it does celebrate America's freedom.

Thanksgiving is more American. Only the true americans celebrate it because they know why.

I'd say Independence Day, since Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving as well.

Independence Day! That whole week, it appears as if the image of the American Flag has thrown up on the country. ...but I all the fireworks! Seriously though, the whole message behind the celebration of Independence Day is much more American to me. We became our own nation. I personally think that the story behind Thanksgiving is RIDICULOUS, especially after how the Pilgrims treated the Native Americans. Ugh.
