Definitely not good for the music industry. Also, not good for the music consumer since the quality is usually not good.

It depends. Good for the record company or the band?

does this question need to be asked? no. see there is no problem with downloading music, but just as long as you don't d\l the entire cd. See i do it to check out new bands, and if i like the sound i go out and purchase the cd's. you have to support good music. Now the people out there just downloading the entire cd's should kick themselves because they are the reason that good bands lose record contracts because they can't sell cd's.

^I agree. I download some songs, to find out what I like best. If I think that a band deserves my support, I'll go and spend the money on a CD.

It's only good if it's in the early on days, and you're trying to spread the music around. And then it's with the understanding that people are sampling the music so they will eventually buy.

A musician has to eat, just like the rest of us. They earn their living from selling CDs and performing live shows. Bootleg copies of music take money off atrists. Feed a musician, buy a genuine copy of a CD.
