Well, I am oddly in love with Julius Caesar, and Napoleon was strangely interesting as well. For pure evil, I just don't think you can beat Hitler, though I hear he was actually a pretty nice friend. He was just psycho. (Note: I restrained the urge to say, simply, 'George W Bush' who is awful, but no Hitler. Yet.)

In terms of the most deaths caused then I think that would have to be Stalin.
Other than that people like Gengis Khan were cruel beyond belief to his enemies.

floydstoney, if you don't live here, keep your mouth shut. You have no right to make comments like that, idiot. My opinion, hitler was the worst.

jarhead, I am totally for you telling floydstoney to shut up, but don't tell him not to vote for Bush on this one because he doesn't live here, and then vote for Hitler yourself! No offense, but that's stupid!

I would have to say Saddam. Hitler was a great 'leader', but a terrible person. Anyone who can convince people to murder based solely on religion needs to have excellent leadership skills.
(And commenting that G. W. Bush is doing the same as Hitler would be committing YT suicide)

Worst American president, I would say was Carter. He was only good AFTER his presidency for his humanitarian work. Worth leader however, I would say would be Marcos. The Filipino dictator. Aquino did do a good job of cleaning up after Marcos was overthrown, but still-she had a lot of work ahead of her.

wish I'd thought of saying that too!!--and I agree that it's maybe not likely Bush is the worse but is it SO ridiculous??
He may not be tyrannical but is he charismatic and leaderlike?? Do you think Bush has more decicated followers than Hitler or Napoleon? The success of a leader has a lot of factors.
Anyone should be careful to assume that a person is an idiot based on two or three words and not one clue about what aspect he was thinking of.

I'd say Stalin, or perhaps some unknown leader way back in acient Egypt or something...they don't teach us that far back in school, maybe in college or something; I really don't know THAT many leaders.

probably the most unleaderlike leader is the guy you would think of last if we were to list every one that any of us can think of.

Kim Jong-il (North Korea) must surely be a good contender for not giving a damn about his own people or how about Charles Taylor for inability and cruelty combined?

I think it's hilarious when someone post's something totally off the wall like that and doesn't even realize it. In all fairness, floydstoney was doing the same, but he never contradicted himself like jarhead (odd how that name seems to fit, huh?)
I never said Bush was the best leader, but he's definately not the worst!

In my opinion, Akhenaton of Egypt was... kind of the worst from the aspect of religion and worship. he made all the people go from supporting whatever god they wanted, to being forced to worship the god of the sun (monotheism). but otherwise i would say that stalin was the "worst" in history. but Hitler is right behind him, though he was very successful in the view of a type of persuasion, i guess.. but if you read a book about the holocaust, then he would be the worst hands down. so thats my decision i guess, hitler. (man, i feel like i just wrote an essay)

honestly, i dont get what is so bad about George bush. he decided that he had enough of people trying to bomb his country (there is a history of world trade center attacks) so he decided to fight back, but not viciously, like the mideast did to us!!!! does that make a leader horrible for trying to keep his country safe??
