I might consider buying one. It just depends on how much they cost.

Those aren't new...they've been around for a long time now. I've never had one, and they're not expensive...but after awhile the glowy-ness fades. But wait! I think the pet shop people said those ones had flourescent dye injected into them or something, but I swear they look just like the ones in the picture. I think it's the same thing. Either way, I don't buy fish...I feel bad for them, I mean, they have no lives, and they're not really any fun. Plus, it's really easy for them to just die...yeah, I'll stick to pets that don't live in water.

Glow in the dark fish is a spiffy concept but the genetic altering of them is weird to me.

Sounds cool, but I bet some idiot dumps them in a pond somewhere and bingo, ecological nightmare.

^^^That's exactly the kindda ignorance and fear people show for genetic research and genetic modification, that I've been saying (writing) all this time.

Ignorance and fear? Where did you get that from? Khaki is completely right that if they were released into the wild, they may cause severe ecological problems. ANY species new to an area would, even if they weren't cloned.

The fish are sterile. If someone decided to dump them somewhere you wouldn't have to worry about glofish cross-breeding procreation.
