I'd say happiness and inner peace would be more highly valued, although you'd have to have experienced money in order to realize (that it isn't) it, at least in this society.

Who would want to be equal? With all the people I've met, if I was equal to them in all respects, I'd either be really disappointed or provide no competition or change.

I think some people totally missed what types of things this question was refering too, but that's ok, I blaim myself I should have wrote a story... Still it's an open ended enough question people might stumble upon it anyway so I'll let it be.

It certainly feels nice to pretend more people would like equality, but judging by the corruption and subsequent failure of so many communist countries--which are founded on equality--and the success of captialist countries such as ours, I'd have to say power.

Equality would be an end to our democracy, believe it or not. It'd be like a communist country, where everyone works together and gets the same of everything, but never tries. In the US it's about power and everyone tries hard, sometimes working 2 jobs to support themselves and gain power, and it keeps our government and society and even economy going.

in what context is this question being asked?
i get the feeling it's referring specifically to people who are fighting for "equal rights" but who seem to take it overboard to where they're demanding special treatment.
so are you asking if those people are really going for equality or power?
or do you mean just in general?
in general, i'd say power, easily.

Power. Neither are better, though, in my opinion. But humans are power hungry by nature.
