The writing is below standard and alot of the plot and detail is copied.

18 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Sunday 6/6/04 - 3:25:42 PM EST (GMT-5)
Yes *sigh* And it's completely stupid and ignorant. The books are great, and teach a good lesson. Very, very far from evil.

It's just a story. Like Lord of the Rings. Which, co-incidentally, JK Rowling has borrowed heavily from. You're right donnaB. Miss Rowling has achieved one thing, and that's to get children reading again, however it is an even more remarkable achievement that she hasn't been sued for plagarism.

No, and I tend to think such people are either extremely narrow minded, or about as sharp as a bag of wet jello.

18 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Sunday 6/6/04 - 4:27:41 PM EST (GMT-5)
You're so brainwashed it's not even funny.
18 yrs ago, 2 mos ago - Sunday 6/6/04 - 4:32:34 PM EST (GMT-5)
The problem is of course that the people who forbid their kids to read the books are the same people who don't know what it's about. Cause if they did, they'd know that the stories make no mention of devils, sacrifice, demons, summonings, religion in general or anything of the sort. Their magic comes from themselves and not from pacts with demons or the like.
The main characters are good and heroic, while the bad guys are rather rotten. There is not a single bad teaching in these books. They emphasise friendship, sticking together and never giving up.

Dudegirl, I refer you to my previous post.
