It's so much easier to sneak onto YT on the net...

I used the library a lot until I got to my real upper-level classes in college. At that point, I used the school's online database of scholarly journals and the National Security Acrchives (also online) more than anything else.

that depends on if i have to put it in a bibliography--internet sources are a b*tch to site and put on a biblography--they never list ALL the info!!

The school online archives of journals and even full texts make doing research from home a breeze. It's not acceptable to use only internet sources for research, but now more and more scholarly articles and archives are online and they do count as regular resources

The library is excellent if they do actually carry the resources you're looking for but the Internet is way more convenient. Anyhow I make use of both.

17 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Saturday 9/20/03 - 4:02:27 PM EST (GMT-5)
Internet, I never go to the library.
17 yrs ago, 7 mos ago - Saturday 9/20/03 - 4:05:06 PM EST (GMT-5)
The internet is a great place for easy-access information. I use it exclusively for research, and usually find all that I'm looking for on one website. Unless, of course, I am required to have a book or two in my bibliography, in which case I just find some random ones and list 'em.

Probably online, I never can find exactly what I'm looking for at the library. Plus you have to be quiet, or you get shooshed.
14 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Friday 1/26/07 - 10:45:45 AM EST (GMT-5)
In the library on the internet. I get too distracted if I'm on my own computer doing research so I usually do it at the library or computer lab. Also, it's nice to have access to books, journals, etc. if I need them. I also use a lot of books, but I often check them out and do the research at home.
14 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Friday 1/26/07 - 10:47:19 AM EST (GMT-5)
The library. I don't trust the internet one bit.
14 yrs ago, 3 mos ago - Friday 1/26/07 - 10:57:14 AM EST (GMT-5)
To clarify, when I say I use the internet I'm referring almost exclusively to using online databases to get journal articles, etc.

That's exactly what I do

I went through a full four years of college without EVER checking a book out of a library. All my research was purely from the internet, but a lot of it was through the library's online databases.
