Well, who else would handle what I'm sure was a flood of requests?

Normally, I would revolt such an idea as I vehemently hate media frenzies. But after getting over that hate and considering what her parents must have gone through, why not make the tragedy work for them? Turn the experience into something positive. So yeah, appropriate for the parents. What I will still despise, however, is that other people will be making money off of this event, and that makes me want to vomit.

For the sake of protecting her from entertainment folk who would seek to make millions of her story, yes. They are not pushing her on the public, so I would say that their motives were honest and just.

Hiring him so soon wasn't that bad of a move. Doing anything in the near future I think would be.

Why the hell not, After all it's America where everyone's a victim waiting for their TV and movie deal to change their lives. If people didn't watch in your face reality shows then crap type shows like this one would have little or no appeal to producers and advertisers. I hope they show the Elizabeth "not so" Smart story, during baseball season so that the lowered ratings might for once and for all, cancel televised baseball. See something positive might come out of this yet. Secondly I think she wanted to be the wonder kiddy bride of the Charles Manson look and act alike dude. From what I read she had several opportunities to escape but repeatedly failed to act upon them. It should be as fictional as Billery's memoirs.

Nothing, other then it is the greatest known cure for insomnia. You got a guy pitching 90+ mph fast balls making $10 million bucks a year to throw a ball that no one can hit Vs. a guy making $10 million bucks a year trying to hit out of the park a ball that no one else can hit. Sounds like fun to me. I like watching baseball at the ballpark. But on TV, well it sucks.

Who cares about Elizabeth Smart's falling TV offers. Lets talk about televised baseball. I cant get where I live so I listen to it on the radio, it's great, I close my eyes and the smells all come back to me.

Well, considering that movies, books, etc are going to be written or made regardless of what her parents say, I think that it was a good idea, so that they can at least have some sayso.

Elizabeth Smart was probably suffering from Stockholm Syndrom "Victims have to concentrate on survival, requiring avoidance of direct, honest reaction to destructive treatment. Become highly attuned to pleasure and displeasure reactions of victimizers. As a result, victims know much about captors, less about themselves. Victims are encouraged to develop psychological characteristics pleasing to captors: dependency, lack of initiative, inability to act, decide, think, etc. Both actively develop strategies for staying alive, including denial, attentiveness to victimizer's wants, fondness for victimizer accompanied by fear, fear of interference by authorities, and adoption of victimizer's perspective. Hostages are overwhelmingly grateful to terrorists for giving them life. They focus on captor's kindnesses, not his acts of brutality."

Oh I am almost positive she has that wanderer - that's why she never ran away from them. She wasn't tied up or captive, she could have left several times and even had the police question her once and she lied to them to stay with Wanda. I also think she was pregnant when they found her but that's never been confirmed.
