19 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Thursday 4/3/03 - 8:04:00 AM EST (GMT-5)
I doubt it's even provable in most cases.
19 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Thursday 4/3/03 - 9:09:49 AM EST (GMT-5)
If you can't prove it, it's going to be interesting to see how this town enforces it

That guy looks like he has a dildo strapped to his face.
19 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Thursday 4/17/03 - 8:07:56 PM EST (GMT-5)
All lies are grounded in truth, people would spend all their time arguing the endless philosophy of what lying really is
19 yrs ago - Wednesday 5/21/03 - 11:40:36 AM EST (GMT-5)

18 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Tuesday 6/17/03 - 5:48:35 PM EST (GMT-5)
Well, you're already not allowed to when it really matters (in court, in the news, etc.) and so other stuff is generally undetectable and way too much work to prove one way or the other if it's suspected.
18 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Tuesday 6/17/03 - 5:51:20 PM EST (GMT-5)
"No, you're bum doesn't look in that". Sometimes you don't want to hear the truth, so lying's good.
18 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Tuesday 6/17/03 - 5:53:11 PM EST (GMT-5)
Yeah sure and the punishment should be to have to wear that nose for a week.
18 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Tuesday 6/17/03 - 6:03:22 PM EST (GMT-5)
In some cases it already is punishable by law. In more cases it is punishable by society but apathy is probably the bigger crime.
18 yrs ago, 11 mos ago - Tuesday 6/17/03 - 6:06:15 PM EST (GMT-5)
drat that. It's called perjury when it matters and it's already punishable. Next they'll want to ban flashing old ladies and young children.
18 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Monday 7/14/03 - 8:49:06 PM EST (GMT-5)
Sure go right ahead. I never outright lie anymore, I just give a different version of the truth. Besides, my versions of the truth may not be 100% accurate, but you can't blame me if I make a mistake or a miscalculation here and there, I am only human after all
18 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Thursday 8/7/03 - 9:51:24 PM EST (GMT-5)
I don't think it could be. It would be one of the stupidest crimes ever, especially if you got jailed for lying. It just wouldn't add up.
18 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Saturday 8/16/03 - 10:30:28 AM EST (GMT-5)
Its a sin, according to God.Re 22:15 Without are the dogs, and the sorcerers, and the fornicators, and the murderers, and the idolaters, and every one that loveth and maketh a lie.
18 yrs ago, 9 mos ago - Saturday 8/16/03 - 11:12:29 AM EST (GMT-5)
So, jarhead, what does that have to do with it being illegal in the States?
18 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Thursday 4/15/04 - 11:24:19 AM EST (GMT-5)
How would they enforce it? Everyone lies at times.
18 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Thursday 4/15/04 - 2:42:10 PM EST (GMT-5)
ah, what the hell else do they have to do in Iowa? Let them make all their wackjob little laws, while everyone quietly ignores them and they fade back into obscurity
18 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Thursday 4/15/04 - 6:31:36 PM EST (GMT-5)
What a dumb town. DOWN WITH SMALL IOWA TOWNS.
18 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Thursday 4/15/04 - 6:40:45 PM EST (GMT-5)
no.. thats stupid every one needs to lie
18 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Friday 4/16/04 - 12:17:08 AM EST (GMT-5)
It would be really hard to enforce. How do you define a lie? Something that is not true? Well some writer guy told me once that as soon as you express a fictional thing, it becomes true. Doesnt matter if it actually happened. I'm babbing. Sorry
18 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Friday 4/16/04 - 10:28:12 PM EST (GMT-5)
They already have laws against slander. I suppose it could be extended beyond that though if damages could be proven. I like the idea, but there are too many trivial lawsuits as it is, and this would probably just add to it.
18 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Friday 4/16/04 - 10:52:42 PM EST (GMT-5)
Yea, right after murder.
