Let's just call it 8 cities and eliminate the North Dakota "cities."

I live in St Paul, the "other" Twin City, just over an hour's drive from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, arguably the best medical center on the planet. Now, if I could only afford to go there. There is also a Mayo Clinic in Minneapolis which is attached to the Univ. of Minnesota Medical School that is much closer. We also have the best drug and alcohol treatment center in the US, the Hazelden Clinic in the suburbs of Minneapolis. So y'all come up here and get better!

19 yrs ago, 1 mos ago - Monday 4/21/03 - 3:25:51 PM EST (GMT-5)
I live relatively close to almost all of them, and I'm only 2 hours away from two of them. The midwest is the best place in America to live but people on the coasts for some reason don't believe that :P

Don't worry Kiki. I have relatives in New York who believe that if it doesn't happen in New York, it doesn't happen. When the Twins won the World Series in 1991, they explained that it was an "off year" in baseball because neither the Yankees nor the Mets were involved. They are genuinely surprised when anything outside of New York may be superior to what they have there.

LOL Domo, I went to college with a guy from California that believed Kansas City actually had pigs and cows wandering in the streets. It's amazing to talk to coastal people who have never been to the midwest, many have very distorted perceptions of what life is like here :P
19 yrs ago - Tuesday 4/22/03 - 12:43:37 PM EST (GMT-5)
I lived in Charlottesville Va 2 years ago...little town with nothing but college students
19 yrs ago - Tuesday 4/22/03 - 12:44:08 PM EST (GMT-5)

19 yrs ago - Tuesday 4/22/03 - 1:41:56 PM EST (GMT-5)
People who were raised there, usually. I wish I lived back in Indiana again, even though the part I used to live in was flat as a pancake and barely had any trees or anything. You could see the water towers 2 towns over. But it was home.
19 yrs ago - Sunday 5/4/03 - 6:25:11 PM EST (GMT-5)
Some parts of the Midwest are great. Chicago and Minneapolis are very liberal, cultural cities with large gay scenes, but please don't send me to someplace like Nebraska or Oklahoma.
19 yrs ago - Sunday 5/4/03 - 6:25:55 PM EST (GMT-5)
I'm fairly sure that my city would be on the "10 Worst" list.
19 yrs ago - Sunday 5/4/03 - 6:33:26 PM EST (GMT-5)
Yes. I live in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and I don't have the greatest health.
19 yrs ago - Sunday 5/4/03 - 6:40:23 PM EST (GMT-5)
Cleveland actually has some excellent hospitals
18 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Monday 7/21/03 - 8:55:58 PM EST (GMT-5)

18 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Monday 7/21/03 - 10:16:27 PM EST (GMT-5)
I had my eye disease diagnosed in Iowa City. Yeah for me. That's where I found out for certain that I was going blind. They were ever so nice about it. If I ever needed serious medical treatment I could always get to Iowa City from Ames.
18 yrs ago, 10 mos ago - Monday 7/21/03 - 10:30:30 PM EST (GMT-5)
