If Christianity died as a religion and no one knew of Jesus anymore would the entire human species from that point onward be damned to hell?

I know that there are loads of vereses that support the Restrictivist position, but the Bible is only open to interpretation...

"It's a hoax indeed, like all religions." Already referenced several times, perhaps elsewhere. Your tone is deliberately inflammatory and rude. "I don't think they know for sure either and this is kind of sad, if you think of it." Disrespectful pity. "I would like to convert everyone to my 'religion' : today is today and tomorrow is tomorrow. Be a good person and get as much out of life as you can. It could be over before you know it. No promises or guarantees whatsoever. Results may vary." Mockery

1. You misinterpreted my intentions. I have explained that elsewhere 2. It's not pity...it just makes me sad to see that so many people believe and refuse tobe able to find a solid point on things. It makes me sad that people will not question why there are so many different interpretations. 3. Mockery ? What I described are the rules I live by. And yes...the attempt to convert everyone to my 'religion' was just a half-witty intro to my motto. I'm sorry if it failed.

On the internet, where we have nothing else to go by, words count. Would you be happier if everyone believed the same thing? Would you find it acceptable if I went so far as to say I felt sorry for you because you don't believe, or because you live in Michigan, or because your dog is ugly? I doubt it. I can joke about my faith. But part of my willingness to do so depends on who I'm joking with. There is nothing to distinguish your jokes from your disgust.

I think it will never happen that christianity dies out,the gospel will be spread,it would be meaningless from God to let it stop because He sent Jesus for us to be saved by Him because he doesn't want people to be damned!
19 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Saturday 4/19/03 - 12:12:57 PM EST (GMT-5)
Who said I felt sorry for anyone ? In a way, yes, I would be happier if everyone believed in the same thing (or didn't believe in it whatsoever). It would certainly save a lot of lives. Religion doesn't disgust me. It amazes me and I think it's astonishing, but disgust ? No.

------------ Luke 19:39-40 NKJV And some of the Pharisees called to Him from the crowd, "Teacher, rebuke Your diciples." but He answered and said to them, "I tell you that if these chould keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out" ------------ There is no way that religion could ever die out in the first place. Period.

Dude, Uncle, you are the last person on here that can call someone else rude. Some of my first posts on here were returned with rude comments by you. Anyone who posts their thoughts on a religion and it isnt cool with what you think, you put them down VERY rudely. Ive seen it.
19 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Sunday 4/20/03 - 3:47:22 PM EST (GMT-5)
I don't know to what you are referring here, or why, or why now, omegavolt, but my nature is not to be rude. My nature is to be accepting and tolerant and patient. However, when others push me, I *will* push back. And when I push back, I sometimes, and perhaps in your opinion, *most* of the time, get rude about it. I'm not proud of the fact that I get rude, but I hardly think I am alone in adding that tone to my various arguments here. Do you sense any in this particular response? I would think not, despite the fact that you are calling me out. I can take that calmly. If, now, you decide to initiate a volley of replies saying "Uh-huh, you're rude," "Are, too," "Are, too," "Are, too," then I suppose it will resurface. Impatience at having to repeat myself over and over and over again is a pretty good catalyst for sparking rudeness.

Mr Laughie hasn't, to my knowledge, been rude to me, and i post a bit on religion...

Know what? The entire christian religion would never die, but if it did, since it's easter I feel obligated to say that I think Jesus saved us all anyway. I know it says he saved all belivers, but if you believe in the ten commandments and the peace, love, and fogiveness jesus stands for, don't you believe in him? Even atheists who believe in that would be saved, i think.
19 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Sunday 4/20/03 - 4:09:41 PM EST (GMT-5)
how can an atheist believe in the ten commandments?

19 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Sunday 4/20/03 - 9:00:56 PM EST (GMT-5)
You have to be pretty religiously arrogant to believe that all non-Christians will go to hell for the sole reason that they are not Christian.
19 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Sunday 4/20/03 - 9:29:43 PM EST (GMT-5)
Personally Uncle, you dont really bother me. Youre just words to me, you know that. You could say whatever you want to me, rude or no, and I wont care. Its that youre calling other people 'rude' that concerns me. But, hey, you have a right to your opinion, right? So, say what you need to say, I guess.

Where do you draw the line between religious arrogance and religious certainty, *Tsurumi*? I call people liars sometimes, too, omegavolt. It doesn't mean I've never lied myself, and it doesn't necessarily make me hypocritical.
19 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Tuesday 4/22/03 - 8:45:52 PM EST (GMT-5)
Why would God create a hell? God would have to be pretty sadistic to make creatures that have no idea about what exists in the afterlife (or if there is one) and then damn those who question his existence to an eternity of hellfire. If that is the case, what a f#cking cruel and heartless God!!!
19 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Tuesday 4/22/03 - 8:49:22 PM EST (GMT-5)
although i consider myself christian, i don't belong to any of their religions and i don't believe in the traditional christian concept of "hell" either..
19 yrs ago, 5 mos ago - Thursday 4/24/03 - 2:12:27 PM EST (GMT-5)
Sir Foxy, We DO have an idea what happens in the afterlife. God Himself, in the form of Jesus, told us about it. Hell exists in the afterlife. He told us perfectly clearly what we have to do to avoid it. Those that choose to reject his gift are damned. It is not God sending them there, it is their rejection of God that causes them to go there.

19 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Friday 5/2/03 - 6:23:59 AM EST (GMT-5)
do you think that people in other countries who dont know who jesus is will goto hell just because they happen to be in a place without christians, or without anybody who knows who he is? i agree, your not bashing christians, your bashing every1 else though
19 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Friday 5/2/03 - 6:29:28 AM EST (GMT-5)
There's to points here: 1. there is no heaven so it cant happen and 2. who cares, look at the kind of people who are going to heaven i'd rather not be there 3. u wouldn't think about the people b4 "Jesus" are they all in hell?
19 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Friday 5/2/03 - 6:34:01 AM EST (GMT-5)
Assuming god exists, I doubt he'd condemn people to hell for not knowing about Jesus. Not knowing about something isn't the same as rejecting it (working on the assumption that people who reject god do go to hell).
19 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Friday 5/2/03 - 6:39:54 AM EST (GMT-5)
good point
19 yrs ago, 4 mos ago - Friday 5/2/03 - 6:48:53 AM EST (GMT-5)
The whole point about christianity is God is vain, not selfless. Itall bout how good he is. "if u dont adore me piss off!" Obviously its flawed and a method of subjugation and control developed by man
